GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. (KKTV) - A Colorado police officer and his K9 are being credited with tracking down a missing woman!

On Friday, the City of Greenwood Village shared details of the rescue operation on social media. According to a city official, K9 Mercury and Officer Austin Speer were called to help locate a missing 85-year-old woman on Thursday. The woman had gone missing for two hours and K9 Mercury was trained for tracking. K9 Mercury found the missing woman clinging to a tree down a steep ravine where she could not be seen from the roadway or canal!

We’re gonna get you home, OK,” the city posted to Facebook sharing a moment from the video clip that can be watched at the top of this article.

The missing woman was reunited with her family. The post added K9 Mercury joined the department a year and a half ago for this specific purpose, in addition to his skills in narcotics detection.
