Netflix fans are all watching the forgotten sequel to 'one of the best heist movies ever made'.
Inside Man: Most Wanted was only recently added to the streaming giant's library. However, in just a few days since its addition it has already made its way high up the charts of most watched titles on the service. At the time of writing, the film currently sits in second place of the top 10 films among UK subscribers.
That puts it between two other new releases, with it one spot behind German thriller Exterritorial. However it has quickly overtaken Tom Hardy's fast-paced action drama Havoc, which is now in third.
The film was originally released back in 2019 and is actually a follow up to the 2006 release Inside Man. The original starred Clive Owen, Jodie Foster and Denzel Washington, with Spike Lee directing. Many fans have shared their love for that film online with one person claiming: "One of the the best heist movies ever made in cinema history - story is superb and the ending is unpredictable."

It didn't take long for reports to pop up of a sequel being in the works. It was claimed screenwriter Russell Gewirtz would return to pen the sequel, with Lee also being back on board. Washington, Owen, Foster and Chiwetel Ejiofor were said to be all reprising their roles.
However, by 2011, all those plans were shelved with the project for Inside Man 2 cancelled. What fans would get eight years later, was Inside Man: Most Wanted as a direct-to-video project. While set in the same universe as the original and a portrait of Washington's character can be seen in the trailer, none of the original cast or crew return.

Sky is giving away a free Netflix subscription with its new TV bundles, including the £15 Essential TV plan. Members can watch live and on-demand TV content without a satellite dish, including hit shows like The Last of Us, Black Mirror and all WWE programming.

SkyInstead, Most Wanted is set fiver years after the events of the original Inside Man. The synopsis is a familiar one however as Ariella Barash and her group of robbers execute a well-planned money heist and hold tourists hostage. As a result, the task forces of NYPD and FBI are forced to team up in race against time to rescue innocent lives.
Unfortunately, it seems this follow up is not as well received as the original was. While Inside Man managed an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the sequel has 69% popcornmeter score from fan submitted reviews.
The film has received some praise from fans have shared their views online. One person claimed: "This film is one of a kind where you want to just sit down and think and get hooked to what will happen next. Absolutely fantastic!"

Another added: "Fun movie, intense at times, lots of twists, enjoyable characters, thoroughly enjoyed it. It's underrated."
On the other hand, someone else posted: "The original inside man was incredibly well written acted and directed and a heist movie masterpiece. This was just pure blasphemy and totally unnecessary if you haven’t seen the original, watch that instead, of you have seen the original don’t taint your memory of a great movie."
Thankfully, for those who wish to see why it was so highly praised, the first film is also available on Netflix. It is also currently streaming for free on Tubi.
