Worried Erin Andrews tries to diagnose co-host Charissa Thompson during podcast recording
The iconic sportscasting duo returned for the latest episode of their popular 'Calm Down' podcast this week but all was not well as both battled against recent bouts of illness
Erin Andrews showed her true feelings towards Charissa Thompson on the latest episode of the "Calm Down" podcast by attempting to diagnose her as she struggles with illness.
The iconic sportscasting duo were back for this week's installment of their popular show as they continue to make the most of the NFL off-season, although things got off to a gruesome start as Andrews recalled "the worst thing I ever did", leaving her bestfriend and colleague visibly stunned when remembering the gruesome after-effects of undergoing surgery.
It followed on from Thompson revealing how she had hurt her face after ignoring the 47-year-old's advice in last week's episode, leaving her glowing as she appeared on screen - but not in the way she would have hoped. The pair also recently celebrated their birthdays, for which they received a special post from Fox Sports.
For this week's episode of their popular podcast, however, all was not well as both Andrews and Thompson revealed their recent battles with seasonal illness. While Andrews had all but overcome hers, Thompson was noticeably struggling as she sniffled and coughed throughout.
That didn't stop Amazon Prime's Thursday Night Football host from giving it her all, though, and she did her very best to put on a brave face for viewers. In a teaser of this week's episode uploaded by Andrews to Instagram, Thompson jokes about how she will deliver the episode no matter what. "In sickness and in health, till death do us part," she says.
The teaser then switches to a clip of Andrews, where she mentions how she has "a real thing with sicknesses" and needs "to know the symptoms from everybody." She then proceeds to ask Thompson a list of questions regarding her current condition, appearing keen to get to the bottom of her illness.
"Do you have a cough? What kind of cough? I was just going to ask you. You said you're coughing. Are you coughing stuff up?" Andrews quizzes her best friend, who promptly nods her head in agreement and says, "Yeah."
"Are you spitting it out?" Andrews then questions, warranting the same response again from Thompson. She then asks: "What color is it? White? Yellow? Green?" to which Thompson answers "yellow." The segment then finishes with Andrews saying, "Yeah, mine was green."
While Thompson appears to be struggling with nothing more than cold/flu symptoms, Andrews is clearly concerned for her Fox Sports colleague and seems determined to do whatever she can to help. Having gone through her fair share of health scares in the past, Andrews knows exactly what it's like to suffer.
In one admission recently, the former Dancing with the Stars co-host opened up on having "multiple meltdowns" while also discussing her recent pre-cancer scare. During this week's "Calm Down" episode, the TV personality recalled an ordeal from her childhood, having gone under the knife for a minor procedure on her ear.
Andrews revealed that she was left feeling self-conscious as a youngster during her school days, with her mom having guided her to have surgery if she so desired. “My school pictures always had my left ear sticking out. So my mom had said, ‘if it bothers you enough we could get it pulled back,'" she said.
However, the resulting effects of the surgery left the future household name horrified, with the wound having left her bleeding from her ear on her return from the operating theatre. Reflecting on the situation, she referred to it as a "horrific" experience, calling the move to have surgery the "worst thing I ever did in my life."
In March, Andrews stunned fans when she revealed that she was dealing with a "pre-skin cancer situation" on her upper lip. She explained that she has been experiencing a lot of pain and even "wanted to pass out" over the recent health scare, which comes almost a decade after she was diagnosed with cervical cancer, something she has since recovered from.
