Larson Electronics Releases 150KVA Heavy-Duty Portable Power Distribution Station

KEMP, Texas, Oct. 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Larson Electronics, a leader in industrial lighting and power distribution systems, announced the release of a portable 150KVA heavy-duty power transformer substation. This portable power system converts three-phase 480VAC electrical current into three-phase 208Y/120V, giving operators the ability to power their equipment from a single system. The primary side connects 480V line-in power using a single set of cam-lock inputs, while on the secondary side, access to four, 4100R12W receptacles with weatherproof covers for 208Y/120V equipment is provided.

The MPD-480D-CMLK-150KVA-208.120-4X2P.100A is a durable, temporary power distribution system with a single set of 400-amp 600V rated E1016 male cam-locks (brown, orange, yellow, green) that guides 480V three-phase power into the primary panel. This panel has a 200-amp, 480V three-phase time delay fuse block for protection and passes power through the NEMA 3R 150KVA transformer, which converts 480V to 208Y/120V three-phase and passes the current to the secondary panel. The secondary panel has four, 100-amp, 2-pole, 250V breakers protecting four, 100-amp, 125/250V, 4100R12W receptacles.

This transformer and distribution assembly is mounted onto a durable carbon steel frame with integrated skid pockets and a lifting eyelet on the top for easy transport. The frame is 1/4 inches thick with a three-inch square tubing frame. Applications of this power distribution system include outdoors, plant maintenance, hazardous location operations, as a welding station, shows, exhibits, and marine applications.

"This portable power substation is great for construction sites, shipyards, even shows and exhibits,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics LLC. “All receptacles have weatherproofed covers so this unit can be used safely outside in non-hazardous locations.”
