THOSE IMPACTED. WE’VE GONE FROM THE FOUR EMPLOYEES TO THE 300 EMPLOYEES. WE’VE OBVIOUSLY BUILT CAPACITY, AND IN PART IT’S BECAUSE WE’VE HAD 22 PEOPLE SERVE. NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE THROUGH THE AMERICORPS PROGRAM. AMERICORPS IS A NATIONAL SERVICE PROGRAM THAT CONNECTS VOLUNTEERS WITH ORGANIZATIONS IN NEED. ORGANIZATIONS LIKE NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE, THOSE VOLUNTEERS WOULD COME ALONGSIDE ONE OF OUR SUPER POWERED INDIVIDUALS AND PERHAPS PROVIDE REDIRECTION FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS PROFOUND AUTISM, OR PERHAPS HELP SOMEBODY LEARN HOW TO READ IF THEY NEEDED MORE CAPACITY TO DO SO. AND SO FOR US, WE LOSE THOSE VOLUNTEERS. BUT THOSE VOLUNTEERS WON’T BE THERE IF THE DEPARTMENT OF GOVERNMENT EFFICIENCY OR DOGE FOLLOWS THROUGH ON DISMANTLING AMERICORPS TO SAVE $557 MILLION. I THINK THE THE THING THAT IS SO SHOCKING FOR EVERYBODY IS THAT IT’S INSTANT. IT’S LIKE CEASE AND DESIST OVERNIGHT. PALOMAR FAMILY JUSTICE CENTER IN OKLAHOMA CITY THAT HELPS VICTIMS OF ABUSE WILL ALSO BE AFFECTED BECAUSE THEY’RE LOSING GRANTS THAT HELP FUND VICTIM SERVICES. THEY TELL ME IN A STATEMENT. THEIR FUNDING IS A MATTER OF LIFE OR DEATH FOR VICTIMS, AND THE CUTS WILL LEAD TO AN INCREASE IN CRIME. SO IT’S A LITTLE BIT LIKE AN ATOMIC BOMB GOING OFF INSIDE EACH OF THESE AMAZING ORGANIZATIONS, MAKING THEIR COUNTRY BETTER BY MAKING THEIR COMMUNITIES BETTER. PALOMAR SAYS THEY ARE STILL SEARCHING FOR FEDERAL FUNDING FOR THEIR ORGANIZATION. AS FAR AS NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE, THEY SAY YOU CAN STILL PLAY A PART IN HELPING YOUR COMMUNITY. SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER, SIGN UP TO DONATE AND HELP MAKE UP THAT DIFFERENCE AT. SO MANY NONPROFITS ARE FACING IN
