Larson Electronics LLC Releases Explosion Proof 120V Power Distribution System

KEMP, Texas, Nov. 14, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Larson Electronics LLC, a leader of industrial lighting, released a portable explosion proof power distribution system that gives operators the flexibility to safely tap into three-phase 480VAC to power their three-phase 208Y/120V equipment. This 15KVA distribution system comes with a Class I, Division 2 rating and is designed for indoor and outdoor use in hazardous location areas for shipyard, plant maintenance and construction applications.

This unit provides operators the ability to safely tap into three-phase 480V AC from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. On the primary side, operators connect three-phase 480 volt line-in power via 20` of #12 SOOW cable with a blunt-cut end. On the secondary side, operators connect to eight (quad double-gang configuration), 125V EFS250-2023 GFCI explosion proof receptacles for 120V equipment.

The HAL-MPD-480.3P-15KVA-8X120.20 explosion proof power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their three-phase 120V equipment from 480V line-in power.

On the primary side operators connect three-phase 480-volt line-in power via 20 feet of #12 SOOW cable and to one, 20-amp rated Class I, Division 1 and 2 explosion proof 480V primary circuit breaker disconnect. The transformer converts 480V three-phase power to 208Y/120V three phase and passes the current to the secondary panel. Liquid-tite flexible cord connects the transformer to the secondary panel, which feeds a 50-amp rated Class I, Division 1 and 2 explosion proof 208Y/120V three-phase main lug only panel. This secondary panel contains eight, 20-amp 125V 1-pole breakers protecting eight, 20-amp 125V EFS250-2023 GFCI Class I, Division 1 and 2 explosion proof receptacles in a quad double-gang configuration.

This unit is designed for serious use, constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy-duty industrial applications. The line-in power as well as connections between the disconnect and transformer and between the transformer and secondary panel consist of heavy-duty SOOW cords for additional reliability. All receptacles are equipped with weatherproof covers to protect from outdoor elements.

The HAL-MPD-480.3P-15KVA-8X120.20 is mounted on a non-sparking aluminum mounting platform equipped with forklift skid pockets, non-sparking locking casters, and four, top located lifting eyelets at every corner allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks.
